MUTATION VECTORS
Status Update
Work on the Sewer Mutant Cyberpunk Speculator zine continues apace. Here’s the line art for the cover by Elinore Edge:

Podcast: Steve Gerber double feature: Void Indigo and The Legion of Night
First Sewer Mutant episode for spooky season: We continue our exploration of the history of the Dark Age of Comics, but we’re jumping around the timeline a little bit to look at a couple things written by Steve Gerber: The Legion of Night with art by Whilce Portacio, and Void Indigo with art by Val Mayerik.

Nano-reviews wanted
Wanted: Very short (2-3 sentence) nano-reviews of cyberpunk comic books for the Sewer Mutant Cyberpunk Spectacular zine.
We already have people covering: Death’s Head, Marvel’s Blade Runner adaptation, Wild Palms, OMAC, and Deathlok.
Would specifically like reviews of: Empty Zone, Fringe (Caliber Press), CLF: Cyber Liberation Front, Ratsbane, and Shatter.
Reviews of newer books welcome!
Email me at klintfinley@gmail.com and tell me what you want to review.
Denver
I was in Denver for work this week and managed to swing by Mile High Comics on my way out of town. This was my third time there. I went twice in the 90s, once when I was 11 and then when I was 15. It seemed so much bigger when I was 11 than it did when I was 15. Walking in this time, I wondered what I was thinking when I was 11. The place is HUGE! But by the time I left I more or less figured it out: Most of the building is given over to the warehouse for their mail order business. And a lot of the space is taken up by collectibles and stuff. The amount of space dedicated to browsable comics is big, but not as overwhelming as it felt to me at 11. Still a pilgrimage always worth making.
Also: They have a cat!
I have a notion of a “Sewer Con” in Denver, where instead of selling tickets, we just pick a few dates and times and places to be: Mile High Comics, Meowwolf, Casa Bonita. No tickets, you’re responsible for your own lodging, reservations and fees, and transportation.
